PhotobucketWhy Be Frugal?

I consider frugality an art form and a religious conviction. I learned about paying cash for purchases, recycling and reusing just about everything and being generous to friends and those in need from my parents.

My faith instructs me all things are gifted by God and so I am compelled to be a good steward of my gifts. [The highest heavens belong to the LORD, but the earth he has given to man. Psalm 115:16]

Buy Gift Cards. Make Money!

One of my friends, Michael, posted this on Facebook:

Deal of the moment: Food Lion has [five] gift cards (Belk, iTunes, Lowe's,Bass Pro Shop and the Mastercard gift card) which, if you buy $50, you save $10 instantly. So I stopped in Food Lion today while at Hope Thrift and bought a $50 Mastercard gift card. It cost me $44.95 at the register, so I made a cool $5.05 buying a prepaid credit card I can use anywhere! Cool, huh?

He also pointed out he didn't think (and I agree) that the other cards have an activation fee - only the Mastercard gift card.

Wow!  Can you say great Father's Day gifts?  You can give these as gifts or spend them yourself! Stock up while the deal lasts!

I researched this and apparently this deal is nationwide, according to Centicible Saver:

Now through June 19 at Food Lion stores, when you spend $50 on gift cards for Belk, Lowe's Home Improvement, iTunes, Bass Pro Shops or Mastercard, you'll get $10 off your bill -- instantly.
There are no coupons or rebates involved. As I understand it, you will simply pay $40 for a $50 card.

Hurry!  The deal ends June 19!

Thanks, Michael for the head's up!
